Samurai? Aren’t they Japanese? Isn’t this blog supposed to be about traditional Chinese martial arts?

Yes.

But.

I started my martial arts journey with a couple of years of Shukokai Karate and was always predisposed to matters oriental by my father who read widely about Zen Buddhism, had an appreciation for Japanese art, and in his retirement went on to learn Japanese.
